Respect in Room 5

So in class, we've been having a few problems. People have been fighting and arguing. So our principle (Mr Norman) came into our class, and we talked about the stuff that's going on. And we figured out ways to make this stop.

The Mrs Lee had gave us the idea to create a Biteable about how we can show respect in Room 5. This Biteable took me about two days, it was confusing but easy too. The 3 things we had to write about were, Respect to our Teachers. Respect to our friends. And Respect to others, schools and our own property's

Market Day Reflection

So after it had been a few days later, Mrs Lee (Our teacher) thought it'd be a good idea to write a reflection on our Market Day. So the class did, and this is my reflection of Marker Day!

Market Day reflection!!


On Monday, we had Market Day!! Market Day is a day where each class sells items. And the money you get at the end, you spend on your fun day. So I bought lots of stuff from other classes, and our class obviously! Every class had pretty good stuff. (Our class did the best!!) So if you wanna check out my Market Day Reflection, here it is.

 We had all our stuff prepared, we set everything up. The things we’re selling are.. Waffles, Wet Sponge throw, Briquettes and a Pie Face game!! For the Waffles, it was $3 for a plain waffle with syrup, it was $4 for a waffle with ice cream and sprinkles as well. For the Wet Sponge Throw, it was $1 for 2 throws, and $2 for 5 throws. We had our Kiwi Can leaders to throw wet sponges at! Then there’s the Briquettes, the briquettes are paper bricks, for your fires to keep warm. We sold a few of them. It was $1 for one briquette, and three briquettes for $2. And the last thing, the Pie Face game. It was pretty fun, but no one really came to that one :(


So let's talk about our stall, Briquettes. A few people came to our stall! And everyone bought the 3 for $2 because it was a good deal, so that was good. We had fun selling them to others, because they also entertained us while buying our Briquettes. We had a deal that two people went at a time to look around and buy some stuff from other stalls from other class rooms.

Our Class made around $87.40 including the money we had to give, since we used the schools money to buy our stuff!! We also had won the Kiwi Can prize, so we're join the prizes together to make it bigger!!

Over all, Market Day was really fun. And it was really hot on the day!

Synthesis | The Big Jump

11 - 12 - 19

For reading this week, my story was "The Big Jump". We had two Synthesis tasks, I chose to do the task that you write down thoughts that Big Daddy (Charlie) Is thinking when he's up on the high flying fox. Big Daddy is a tall kid. He's a boy. And he hates big heights! So I knew what to write since he's scared of going on high things.




This is my idea for his thoughts!!




I found it hard to fit all my ideas in, because there wasn't much room. I found it easy to get all my ideas, because there's lots of things you're thinking when you're up on something high, especially if you're scared of heights.

Market Day!!

 At St. Bernadette's we're having a market day!! We had to make posters, for each item we're selling. I was in the Briquettes group. Briquettes are paper bricks you use for your fire. But there are other posters for other items my class is selling, check it out on the other individual blogs. Items my class is selling is.. Waffles!! $3 for plain waffle with a syrup, $4 with ice cream, sprinkles etc. Another thing we're selling is.. Briquettes, my poster here! They're being sold for $1 or $3 for 3 briquettes! Another thing is, Pie Face! For one round, it's $2. For 2 rounds, it's $4. We're gonna ask a question, and if you get it wrong. You get to slap them with the cream in the face (With the pie face thingy). The last thing we're selling is wet sponge throw! We have our Kiwi Can Leaders on a seat, and you get to throw wet sponges at them, (No Kiwi Can Leaders will be harmed!!) $1 for 2 throws, $2 for 5 throws!

Market day starts at 2pm-4pm. It'll be at our school, St. Bernadette's. On Friday, 6th of December!!

SML | Teaser Week

This is the teaser week!! I chose to do task where you create four new similes. It's kinda when you do four similes. I did four, and I tried!!

Ewes for Me | Synthesis | 3-12 -19

WALT Design a new improved milking shed for automatically milking sheep. 
(Use drawings and labels to explain your interesting ideas)


For reading this week, my groups book is called Ewes for Me. It's about these people who can't eat, so they have to eat liquid food through tubes. But this boy can't eat certain food, only milk from these sheep, Friesian sheep. In the story there's 15 sheep. So they milk all of them, to produce enough milk for the kids that can't eat the other liquid foods. 

Our task for Synthesis was to create a new and improved milking stations that automatically milks the sheep. I drew a ramp shed, where they can wait. And the tube automatically milk the sheep, when a sheep is on the tube. I added labels to explain it more.

Synthesis - Heather the Weather Girl





WALT Design some weather head gear that would protect you from a lighting strike.



So for synthesis this week, my group's reading a story called Heather the Weather Girl. And Heather is a girl who got struck by lighting, but she survived. Heather really liked storms. Anyways, so our task for synthesis was to create a head gear/armour that can protect you from lighting strikes so you don't get struck by lighting like Heather did. I added not just head gear but pants, a shirt and little objects that do stuff for emergency.

I liked putting all the little objects in that help if you get struck by lighting. I found it hard to take the photo to post it on my blog, since I did it on paper.

The True Story of Hansel and Gretel...

Hi, So on a Friday, last week. My school went to the Hansel and Gretel play. It was pretty fun! 
The day before the play, our teacher Mrs Lee had told us one of the story's of Hansel and Gretel. Since there's a lot of different story's. But the play wasn't the same as the story she told us, it turned out to be a different story. But anyways, a few days later after the play. We've been focusing on Narrative Writing. And since the play wasn't the same story as the story we got told. Mrs Lee gave us the idea to write our own story about Hansel and Gretel. And name it "The True Story of Hansel and Gretel"

So we had a big opportunity to be able to go to the Hansel and Gretel play. It would normally be $100 for a ticket, but we got it for $2 a ticket!! So the other thing that was lucky is that we only had to pay for a bit of the bus. We had 2 bussed, and it wasn't even expensive. So overall, we had a big opportunity to go to the play.

I think my favourite part of the story, is when the witch was pushed into the oven thingy. It was funny because a minute later they were Hansel, Gretel and his Dad were standing there, and her shoe came out. Something I didn't enjoy about the play, was that there was no talking. It would be more interesting if there were some people talking instead of just music.

Now, let’s skip back.. Hansel and Gretel were brother and sister. They were hungry little kids. They had a Mum and a Dad. The Mum wasn’t really a fan of these two kids. They ate all the food in the house.. One day they ate all the food in the cupboard . Yes, they were very hungry. But they knew they were gonna be in the biggest trouble.. So they ran away for the day, on their sparky blue and bikes. As they saw a forest, they hopped off their bikes. They thought they’d check it out. But as they were walking through the forest, there was a house! Not just any house, a house made of candy. Yes, candy. But really.. It was a witch's house. A house belonging to a witch that is evil. And what else? Oh right, a witch who likes to eat kid. Did that surprise you? Probably not, I mean what do you expect from witches that have a house made of candy. Anyways, that’s the story for now. Let’s get to the cut.


 The witch was sitting there. In her candy outfit, not looking like a witch. As she sat there. Hansel and Gretel peeked in the door, and walked in hoping she wouldn’t hear them. But there was a creek in the door. The witch had poshly walked to the door, and saw Hansel and Gretel covering their faces, thinking if we can’t see her she can’t see us. The witch took their hands of their faces, and smiled at them. But an evil smile, trying to make it look like a nice smile. The witch moved out of their way, and allowed them to come in. As Hansel and Gretel came in. The witch led them to a giant long table. It was long alright. The witch snapped and called her helpers to bring out the candy. As all these pink human things came out, Hansel and Gretel were thinking that this must be a dream. But no, this witch wants to eat them. They placed the giant plates of candy on the table. It was a huge pile of candy on one small plate. Hansel and Gretel were jumping up.. And down. They straight away put their little hands on the candy, and started eating.



 It was a few plates of candy being eaten later.. Gretel and Hansel had chocolate all over their face and hands, They were bloated. The witch had a plan to make them as fat as they can get. Then she thought she was just gonna put them in the oven, and then it was time to eat them up. Once all the plates were gone, they were passed out. The witch knew it was her go. She got her pink helpers to get them in a dark room. In this room, there were all these green chemicals in the air. It definitely was a bad idea going into this house.



 Gretel and Hansel had woken up, Hansel was in a weird round shaped witch pot. Gretel was on the ground, still half asleep.



 Gretel had finally fully woken up, she realised she had this pink dolly dress on. She was disgusted, she did not like dresses. She didn’t mind skirts and pink sparkly stuff. But she hated dresses. Hansel was smiling at her, like a 3 year old. Gretel was confused. She looked around, then realised where they were. Hansel was gripping his hands onto the giant pot, and lifted himself out. Hansel had tumbled out of the pot, luckily Gretel caught him. “Lucky save” Said Gretel. They both sniffed in the chemicals, and started to feel quite dizzy. Hansel randomly smacked himself in the face, Gretel looked at him weirdly. “Are you okay?” Said Gretel. “Yes!” Said Hansel in a funny mood. Gretel was thinking what these chemicals in the air are, she thought they were laughing chemical because Hansel was laughing. But it’s just chemicals to make you sleep.



A few days later.. The Mum had passed away. I mean she was pretty old. But suddenly, a little bird had lead Gretel and Hansel’s Dad to them, to the witch’s Candy House. Dad was so confused about what was going on, but he decided to follow the little bird. He arrived at the witch’s candy house. He looked threw a window, and saw Hansel and Gretel. Hansel jumped up and ran to the window. He said, “Come inside and save us now!! She might be coming”. Dad quickly ran inside, and saw a key on a table made out of candy. He grabbed this key, and tried to fit it in the key hole for the door to be unlocked. “I’m coming!!” Yelled Dad. The door unlocked, and he ran inside. Hugged the kids like he’s never hugged them before. The witch had came in. this was bad. Hansel had saw the pot was filled with chemicals. Hansel looked at Gretel, Gretel knew what he was thinking. Gretel didn’t think it was a good idea to push her in the chemicals to die. But if they want to be safe, they have to. Gretel ran up to the witch and pushed her in. They all stranded there. A few minutes later, a piece of candy had came out. They knew, she was gone.



 So it’s a few years later.. Hansel, Gretel and their Father live in this candy house. They’ve been munching on all the food and candy. They lived happily ever after...

I think the thing I enjoyed most about writing this, was getting all my ideas.

I found it hard to get all my paragraphs together when I blogged it, but I got it sorted.

Turbo Lends an Ear | Synthesis

WALT think of another animal (or redesign one) that could be trained to help humans who have disabilities. Describe the disability and explain how your animal (or new creature) helps out.

I chose for some that is deaf or is blind. This was one of our tasks for Sharp Reading. I drew my animal as half dog and half cat, a Cog (Cat and a Dog). Then I added my explanation. And I made a google drawing and took a photo of it. Then our task was to post it to our blog, add a description and the WALT.

Princess Jasmine | Descriptive Writing

For writing, we've been learning about descriptive writing! I enjoy descriptive writing because we get to describe and pick up all these ideas. 

So for writing, we had a task to be in pairs and write about a character. I was buddied up with Kylie (Her blog will be on our St. Bernadette's Room 5 class blog). We both agreed to do princess Jasmine. We started planning on a burger template. We had 3 topics, her personality, her looks and her problems in life. Our teacher added a word bank (A word bank is where you come up with heaps of describing words, or it can be 10 describing words), she added a word bank to everyone's burger template brain-stormer. We added up to at least 10 describing words in it.

Once we got all our ideas together. We started writing. We highlighted the detailed bits that were synonyms etc. did our introduction of Princess Jasmine, the 3 paragraphs about here and last, the conclusion. 

Here is my writing!


Princess Jasmine is a very fearless person. She has always been so confident about never giving up. She will always keep trying till she succeeds, Princess Jasmine always knows what is best for her and others. Princess Jasmine is as Brave as a whole Army of Soldiers.

 She has a creative personality. She is a caring person to everyone she loves and to people she might not even know. She’s such an adventurous person, and she is very proud even though she might mess up on something. She is so confident in everything she does and she doesn’t let anything get in her way. She encourages other people to stand up for themselves and do what is right to protect their land and family! If Princess Jasmine was not alive then her land would probably explode!

 Princess Jasmine is a wonderful person with wonderful brown eyes and her brown eyes make her unique. She has beautiful black hair. She wears a shiny gorgeous blue and gold necklace with a special heart on her necklace.

 Sometimes Princess Jasmine can have some problems in her life even though it looks like she can handle everything. She has a problem that her Dad wont let her rule Agrabah. She can only rule Agrabah if she marries someone. Another one of her problems is a bad one. She had to kiss a man called Jafar like Mwah! To distract him from trying to hurt Aladdin. She really does anything to protect someone or something. Princess Jasmine is a very brave and confident person because she never gives up and she always does her best. She loves to adventure, because she always likes to do stuff to help out even though it’s hard for her. Jasmine is very outgoing and fearless because she never is scared of anything and she’s always hyped and happy to do something. She would do anything to save her Family and Agrabah. The victory for her is in the bag!

Story Starters

In class we had a different teacher on Wednesday, aka Mrs Sutherland. She gave us some story starts. We were learning about the five WOW words/the w's.

So on this story starter doc we read these story starters, and we picked one of them to write about. I picked the first story starter because it seems interesting and it's be fun to write about. I still kept the same idea in my head that I wanted to do but made sure it was related to the story starter.

After I got my ideas, I started writing. I think my piece of writing turned out good and interesting.

  • A girl is scooting down the street with her black Labrador. You smile pleasantly at her and continue down the road. The girl stops moving and shouts a warning to you. You can’t hear that well because of the traffic and you ask her to repeat it, what does she tell you? Continue the story….
  • You opened a dreaded gift from Aunt Bertha, expecting to find the usual useless gift. You pull out a glowing ball of material you have never seen before. You inspect it for a moment and then tuck it away in the corner with your other useless gifts. That night, as you are drifting off to sleep, you hear a faint whirring sound coming from the corner of your room….
  • Her face burned red as she recognized her diary sitting on his desk. How could he….
  • When you were little, you could swear there was a monster under your bed—but no one believed you.
  • You’re at your favorite bands concert when you receive a text from a friend that says, you’ll never believe what just happened to me!”
  • You’ve just teacher your one millionth hit on your YouTube video. What is the video about?
  • If you could live inside any video game, which would you choose? Why?

And here is my final story!

In the afternoon, at a dark time. When there weren't many street lights on. A little girl named Teah that was on a bike. There was also an old man biking around. He was on the streets, where there were street lights. As Teah was making her way on her pink sparkly bike to watch fireworks. She sees and old man biking. She was surprised that an old man like that is biking around this late. She sees that there’s a massive bump on the road that needed to be fixed. Teah says, “Watch out there’s a massive bump in the road coming!” As the old man continues biking he doesn’t hear her but he sees that she’s saying something. The old man said, “Say that again?” But he continued biking as he was saying that. All of a sudden he fell off his bike. Hit the bump on the road. And was rushed to hospital. Teah felt bad and stressed because she hates seeing people hurt. Especially someone that bikes.

A few months later.. Teah saw this same man on the road biking once again. She went up close to him and said, “Are you ok, form that last accident you had a few months ago? The old man said, “Yes, I could see you were trying to save me. Thanks for the heads up about the bump, I just wish I heard you”. He laughs. Teah says, “You’re so welcome. Keep safe on these roads and have fun biking sir” He replies “Oh yes I will. I am glad to still be able to ride at this old age, Bye now!” Teah stopped for a second. She said “Goodbye... “ With a smile on her face.

The Speaking Machine

One of our tasks for reading was to make a helpful machine for our passage. Our passage is Sniffer Dog. It's about a Beagle that is a sniffer dog. Most people don't expect Beagle's to be sniffer dogs. His name is Isaak and he loves his sniffing job. The workers say it's like working with a 3-year old because they have to enjoy what they're doing because if they don't, they won't do it.

So for my machine I kinda did a poster. I added my example/picture of the machine and a bit of writing to explain what it is. There is some wrong spelling on this poster, but I tried to fix it. I ended up changing one of the words that were right because I thought it was wrong.

T4W2 Reading Information | Vanilla Ice Cream, Please!


 Vanilla Ice Cream, Please!

For W2 our passage is "Vanilla Ice Cream, Please!" One of our main tasks was to create a Information web. I used mindmup to make my Information web. I had to add all the facts we knew from the story. 

The main character of our story is a girl from Tongatapu named Veisinia Veikoso. She loves ice cream.

I found it hard to find facts because to me the story was confusing 
and it was hard to put in facts that made sense. 

Something I found easy was to get just enough facts, 
so I didn't have too little facts.

My Core | Taonga


In class we have a new IL topic. We're learning about Taonga. Taonga is treasure is Maori basically. 
So our first task for this leasson was to draw/put in the things that make our core. 

Our core is the things that when people make fun of them we get hurt emotionally and you feel embarrassed. 

We were aloud to make it on our device or paper. I chose to do it on paper because I find it hard to find pictures on my device. I added my things that are special to me. The flag is my Malaysian flag. The Koru heart represents my Maori, the picture frame with family inside is meaning I don't like it when people make fun of my family. The kiwi fruit is saying that I'm a New Zealander. We also weren't aloud to add any writing because it was only things that make up our core, and we were going to talk about what we did on our blog post.

A thing that I found easy was to get ideas of what to draw.

Return Ticket, Please! T4W1 Reading

In Term 4 I've moved up a group, I'm in Danny now. But one of our reading tasks for this week was to create a information web. I used mindmup to make mine. I added all the information and facts I got from our story, our reading story this week was called Return Ticket, Please! It was also a non-fiction text. It told us about alot of intresting things about Mars, Venus and the Moon. One of the facts I thought was intresting was that the United States, are working with other countries, is planning a new mission to Mars by the year 2020. 

My mindmup:
I found it hard to pick up information from our story and try write it in my own words as well as making it relate to the actual fact that it was. 

What I found easy was to set it out and make sure it had enough information.

See You In The Cosmos


Well, this terms book has to be my favourite. This term our class boo that our teacher (Mrs Lee) read to us was See You In The Cosmos. I think that this book was very inspiring to keep trying and never give up. We read the boom for this whole term, and I liked every chapter.

So Mrs Lee made this task for the Book that we do in Reading. We made a slideshow. And she gave us activities to do for each week. I tried to make my slideshow colourful to match the colours of a Cosmos. We had a slideshow for every week. But if there was more than 1 activity a week then I'd do a activity for each slideshow. When I finished the last week of all the activities I was happy because there were so many activities to do.

Overall I think my favourite part of the story was when the Boy in the book called Alex lost his dog Carl Sagan and a lady that he knew, found Carl Sagan and rung Alex to tell him. When the book ended. I was kinda annoyed that the ending wasn't as good as I thought it'd be.

The 5k Run

In Room 5 Mrs Lee (My teacher) had put up a picture for us to write about. She put words up there, See, Smell, Hear, Taste and Touch. She said that we have to write about the 5 sences but make it a story at the same time. I was confused how to do the 5 senses but then I actually made a story with the 5 senses.

She gave us a few minutes to think about what we're gonna write about.

Then we went to our desks and started putting all our ideas into a piece of writing. I tried to think of the creativeness and descriptive words to put in. So I started my writing.

I finished writing my story pretty quickly. So Mrs Lee got me to pair up with someone and check our writing together. Then once I finished editing with the person I was with, Mrs Lee read out my buddy first paragraph. Which was very creative.

The 5k Run

Five more steps!! And I made it. The top of the mountain.

I’m at the top of the mountain. I can smell this wonderful cold mint breeze from the trees. I’ve never smelt this fresh mint air before. I better stretch, my legs are killing me. But this cold mint smell is too good of a smell! 

I better sit down and take a breath. Wow what a beautiful view. I can see everything from here! The clouds, the city, the waves in the ocean and everything else am that you could imagine. I better take a photo of this view. This photo is a saver.

I can taste that cold mint smell! It’s too good to resist. It tastes like mint, but really I have no mints! I went up to a tree, and the cold mint smell breezed into my mouth. But now I'm just starting to taste the smell of a nice cold mint smell and a dirt smell, which smells quite odd.

I am sitting down. I can feel the rocky mountain. I can feel the wind breeze on my skin, it’s like the clouds are touching floating along my skin. I can feel the leaves on the trees brushing against my skin. When I look at the view, I can feel the victory of the 5k walk.

I can hear the nice breeze that’s swishing against my ears. I can hear birds chirping away way up in the trees. I can hear the leaves brushing against the branches of the trees. I can hear waves far away from the ocean. I can hear people at the bottom of the mountain cheering for other people that are almost at the top like us.

Well this 5k run was definitely worth this view.

A list is just like a list basically, when you have lots of facts and put number next to them. My reading groups text this week was, "Do Thunder and Lighting Always Go Together?" Te Wiki o te Reo Maori

For one of my tasks in reading, I had too look at Te Wiki o te Reo Maori.

I could choose 3-4 tasks from a doc we could choose from. I choose to do, A burger with the things inside in Maori, A mihi and a word in Maori that represents me.

I enjoyed making the Burger on one of the Tasks! I found it dificult to find information of the words. I think next time I could work on adding more information about the culture and all sorts.

The CERR Values Of St. Bernadette's


In class we have been trying out Animaker and Powtoon. We had to create a Animaker or Powtoon on the CERR Values of St. Bernadette's. I choose a Powtoon because it was easy and we only just started playing around with them both. When we finished we had to download the video but that didn't work. So we screencastified it! So I gave it a try. I had music on my Powtoon, so I had to go somewhere quiet and record so you could hear the music. I also added how Jesus showed the CERR Values on Earth. After I Screencastified my Powtoon I downloaded it to my drive. Then I added it to my blog post. I found it hard to make sure nothing was in the way of my actual work. I found it easy to to get the music on the video.

In class we've been doing Collaborative writing. I was in a group with two other people. We had a topic of, The Homesick Weightlifter. We had to get all our ideas and writing together.

My group first got all our ideas and wrote them down by planning on a shared slideshow. Then we put all our ideas together to make our writing into a digital picture book. There were templates we could use or we could make our own. My group made our own basically because we started with one of the templates but ended up changing everything.

We found it hard to work all as a group because we all had different ideas that were all cool. I think my group found it easy to get ideas but not choose ideas.

Elephant Whisperer. Mindmup

In reading we have a new reading task instead of the shared slideshow, but it's similar to the shared slideshow. For this weeks task we had to make a Mindmup. Once we made our mindmup, we had to post it to our blog. Then comment on our people in our groups mindmup. Sophie's(My group) reading passage today was "Elephant Whisperer." It's about a girl called Charlotte who loved elephants, they were her favourite animal. Our passage was fictional.

T3W7 shared slideshow - Why is the Sea Salty?


T3W7 shared slideshow. For this weeks shared slideshow our passage was "Why is the Sea Salty?" We had to create a infographic. I added information/facts. Another thing I did was a glossary for the passage. The passage had some words that I didn't understand. There was a glossary on our passage so I added a glossary onto my slide. It tells you what some of the trigger words in the passage mean.

My Favourite Season

In class we got write about our favourite season! I picked spring because it's overall the perfect season. If you like spring you should read this. We also were told to trace some pictures or use shapes to make pictures, we used all our pictures to make one big picture together. Also we made blossom trees, we only got to add a picture of our blossom tree if you chose spring. If your favourite season isn't Spring, what is it?

Here is my piece of writing: 


Out of all the seasons, spring has to be my favourite. I’m pretty sure everyone hates it when it’s too hot or too cold! So Spring is the perfect season, it’s a mix between different weathers. It’s also so fun because the sports start!


Spring is my favourite season because there’s different weather in spring! It’s like a mix between Winter and Summer. It is fun and cool because you can go swimming, play sports and go to the park when it’s warm. 


When it’s cold you can stay inside, keep warm, drink hot chocolates and watch movies with your family, but in summer it’s not really the time to drink hot chocolates and stay inside.


Spring is the best because it’s when all the sports and when all the fun things start like Netball, Soccer, Rugby/League/touch, Tennis, Hockey and all sorts of sports! I think everyone loves to go out to play sports and have fun with their friends. So spring is the perfect season for that.


In Spring, it’s the blossom of trees and flowers! You get to see all the colourful and beautiful flowers. You get to go out in your garden and wake up to daisys on the grass. You get to take beautiful pictures in the flowers. So spring is perfect if you want to pick flowers or watch them bloom!


Spring is the perfect season to take photos in. If it’s a cold day you can take pictures inside with hot chocolates and watching movies with your family! When it’s hot in spring you can take pictures at the beach or at the park. It’s also a chance to take a perfect photo with all the flowers blooming. Spring is perfect for photo taking.

In Reading my group was learning on how geysers work. We had to create any info graphic and put lots of information in it. I found it difficult finding a type of info graphic that I could do. I enjoyed putting the information.

Symbol of Eucharist


In class we've been learning about the three sacraments of initiation. Eucharist was one of them three! So we had to make a poster, put a symbol for Eucharist that suits that sacrament and add a verse that relates to the sacrament. I found it difficult to draw the picture. I enjoyed finding a picture that relates to the Eucharist sacrament.

The Sacraments of Initiation


In class we've been learning about the Sacraments of Initiation. We were talking about what a Sacrament is. A Sacrament is basically like a rule. We had to create a slideshow showing the Three Sacraments. We had to add What, Where, Who and How. We could also add a symbol or something that represents that Sacrament.

In class we've been learning how to use Apostrophes properly. We had to fill in sheets about apostrophes. Then once we knew enough about apostrophes we made a poster about how to use apostrophes.

We've been learning about the Six Daughters of Matariki. We had to learn and look at what they mean and what they do. We had to make a DLO showing the meanings of the sisters and what they are en charge of. And also a symbol for each of them.

My Psalms

In class we have been looking at Psalms and using verses from those Psalms to make our own Psalms. We looked at different Psalms each day of the weeks and added a verse that meant the most to us for our own Psalms. On Friday we have 2 or 3 people share their verse they choose, some of us also read out our full Psalm we made. We had to make posters of each Psalm we had right now and insert those posters on a slideshow, or we could just do it straight on a slideshow like I did.

*~Layla The Sassy Llama~*

Creating Llamas!

In class for art Mrs. Lee thought it would be fun to make Llamas. There was a lot of process making these Llamas. The first step of making our Llamas was learning how to draw one and drawing our own Llama with pencil and adding a flower, party hat or just a plain crown, I choose to do a flower crown. The next step after drawing our Llama we got to draw pictures on shapes on the outside of our Llama with crayons. The third step after adding stuff on the background was to dye the background, I did a pattern of colours on my background. The next step for our Llama was to go over our Llamas with white and grey paint. The last step for our Llama was to go over our accessorise that was on our Llamas head and also over things that we wanted coloured like eyes, we went over it with pastels.
The last thing we did was make speech bubbles for a Llamas that described them.

Paragraph 1
I couldn’t believe it, that it was the day my creator started drawing me, finally! She started drawing my body, she was quite an awful drawer, no offence.. I felt embarrassed! I heard her teacher call her name, I listened carefully, it turned out her name was.. Mya.. What a creative name, not.. I laughed. She finally got back to her desk and continued to draw me. Finally I had a body, some hair as well as a flower crown! I looked pretty good looking in my opinion. She was chit chatting to her friends and said she was gonna name me Layla, I thought what a creative name.. Not. Why can’t my creator just get some real creative names in her head. I heard her teacher told the class to go down on the mat, she said it’s time to pack up and leave your llamas on your desk! I was shivering and in shock my creator was just gonna leave me here with no colour. They packed up and did prayers.. Wait what’s prayers? I’ll ask my creator when I came to life! If I ever do.. Anyways talking about after they packed up, it was home time.. I knew this time was gonna come some time soon.. She just left me on her desk and went home.

Paragraph 2
It was the next day.. Finally I could have a background.. A colourful background, I think.. I could just imagine if she used black and dark purple.. Ew gross I don’t know who likes the colour black. It was finally her turn to start dying, I was so excited. She took forever to finish dying my background but she finished at last. But once again it was home time. I rolled my eyes and got so mad, I was going crazy. A few minutes later I calmed down and was left on a different table with all these other llamas, I was scared for my life.

Paragraph 3
The next day.. Was painting day. I was in shock and so excited to be getting some coloured fur. But then I realised.. Mya was only aloud to paint me WHITE and put GREY on me.. Like who would want just plain colours like that as the coloured fur. I’m guessing Mya was so annoyed to.
She finished painting finally. Oh my- no Layla don’t say it, I can’t believe this.. It’s home time again and I was left on the stinking table once again.. What’s new these days!

Paragraph 4
This day.. The next day, It was the day. The day that I was gonna come alive! It was colour time.. With oil pastels. Great oil pastels, why not just use pencils or felts! But it was time she started colouring my flower crown and the rest of my body parts that needed to be coloured. She finally finished. But once again it was home time. But I had a plan when everyone left the classroom.

Paragraph 5
Everyone left the room it was time for me to do my escape plan. I quickly jumped out of the paper like there was no tomorrow before the security cameras caught me.. I ran out the door. I was so excited to be free and a real living llama. I galloped outside and rolled in the grass and sniffed the daisies, but something horrible happened. A daisy got stuck up my nose! I ran around rolled around and banged my nose on the tree, I hoping that would get the daisy out of my nose because it was itching so bad but it didn’t. But then I felt a sniffle and I.. Sneezed. Eww yuck! Wait the daisy’s gone. Finally no more itching up my nose. I ran around and I was finally.. FREE, from that plain white paper.

Read This! It'll help you with writing.

In class I've been learning about Explanation writing and the SEER structure. Me and 6 other people were challenged to write explanation writing with
the SEER structure. SEER means Starting Sentence, Explanation, Example and Re valance.

There were 5 people that were gonna be picked to teach students in our class about how to do Paragraph Links. We were aloud to write about
what the best animal in the world is in our opinion or about personal hygiene.
The five people were picked to teach students in the class and I was one
of them.

We made a slideshow about Paragraph Links. We added information, examples and a video in case they didn't understand what we wrote.
Here is a example of the writing I wrote.


Cheetahs are the best.
Cheetahs are smart and very fast. Cheetahs can run 100 – 120 km/h, They can also run up to 60 miles
per hour, That makes them very fast. Cheetahs are also a great jumper. Cheetahs are part of the
cat family. Cheetahs are the only big cat that can’t roar. The cheetah is important to its ecosystem
because it keeps the animals that it hunts in check.
For example, If there were a race between a tiger and a cheetah, the cheetah would definitely
win because it can run up to 60 miles per hour and the tiger can run up to 35 to 40 miles per hour.
Another example is, If a kangaroo and a cheetah had a competition of who can jump the highest,
the cheetah would even though kangaroos speciality is jumping, The cheetah can jump up to
8 feet and the kangaroo can only jump up to 6 feet high. 
Personally, Cheetahs are they best animals in the world.


Personal Hygiene is important.
Personal hygiene is how we take care of our bodies, it also makes us feel clean and tidy. 
It also keeps us healthy. Brushing our teeth, Washing our hands, Wearing clean clothes,
Showering or bathing regularly, keeping our nose clean and Minimising the spread of germs
where we can. Brushing our teeth is important for our hygiene, Normally we should visit the
dentist every 6 months for a check up. Brushing properly removes plaque. Plaque can cause
cavities, toothaches, gum disease and even our teeth to fall out. Washing our hands is also very
important, if we don’t wash our hands we’ll cause lots of germs, this includes cleaning your
fingernails, Wearing clean clothes and showering or bathing regularly. For example if we wore
the same dirty uniform for a week or so we might get sick and cause germs. Another example is,
If you don’t cut your nails, and you bite them you will get germs in your mouth and you’ll get sick,
it’s also bad if you scratch someone without cleaning and cutting your fingernails, it’ll cause germs
and it could make the other person
sick and catch your germs. 
I think that personal hygiene is very important.
