In Cyber Smart this term we are starting to learn about Summer Learning. Today we looked at all sorts of countries like Canada, Mexico, Chile, England, Germany, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Malaysia and Australia. We looked at facts about all those countries. Then we got to pick a country out of those and I picked Canada. We had to find out answers to questions about our country we picked on a blog post and post it.

The Lost Key W.A.L.T: Write a descriptive story based on a picture. We had to write a story about a picture. You also had to write about a object in your story and you lost it and then you found it.

 “Annabelle open the door please! “ Mum yelled. “Coming!” I yelled. “Thanks Annabelle” Said Mum. “Did you get my lollies?” I asked. “Of course I did” Mum replied. “Thanks Mum” I said. “Your welcome Annabelle” Mum replied. I went to sit on the couch in the living room and watch TV. “Mum someone is at the door!” I called. “Can you please see who it is” Mum called. “Sure!” I replied. “Thanks Annabelle” Mum called. “Umm Mum!” I yelled. “What Annabelle?” Mum replied. “Uhhh never mind” I yelled. “Ok?” Mum replied. I walked outside. “Ummm hello? Who are you?” I cried. “Hello, I am Jacob” He Said. “I am Annabelle?” I replied. “Why are you here?” I asked. “Look I need you to keep this key safe for just a month, Please” Jacob said. “Why me, can’t you ask someone else to look after your key?” I said. “Look I don’t have time to talk” Jacob said. I thought where I should hide the key. “Aha here, in this box” I said to myself. I hid it deep down in the box that I couldn’t even see the key anymore. “It’s getting late, I should get to bed” I said to myself. I woke up the next morning. I looked in the box and the key was gone!. “Uhh where is the key!” I yelled. “Annabelle is everything ok in there?” Mum asked. “Uhh yes” I replied. I called my friend as fast as I could. “Come on Mary pick up!” I said to myself. “Hello?” Mary said. “MARY!” I yelled. “Whats up?” Mary asked. “I can’t talk, please just come to my house, QUICK!” I yelled. “Ok! On my way!” Mary yelled. Knock knock, Jacob knocked. “Hello!” I said. “Hello!” Jacob said. “Here is your key” I said. “Thank you for looking after my key” Jacob said. “No problem” I replied. “I am gonna go now, bye!” Jacob said. “Goodbye!” I replied. Life was back to normal again I didn’t have to look after a key anymore.

Ireland

In class we were learning about Ireland. We got to choose to do a pamphlet or a Poster. I choose to do a poster. In my poster I added Irish Symbols, Ireland Flag, Ireland Fun facts, Dublin Facts, Gaelic language facts and Facts about St. Patrick. I learnt about Who St. Patrick is and I also learnt about the language Gaelic and the city Dublin. I used these colours because they represent Ireland.

Bob and The Samurai

W.a.l.t: Create a story around a tiger and a Samurai.

Bob and The Samurai

I was in bed with my pet cat Bob. We were in a very deep sleep until my bed turned into water and we fell into a random grey lake. We swam out of the lake. We noticed I had been turned into a Samurai with a long sharp golden sword. Bob had turned into a giant Red Tiger with black and white stripes. He had giant sharp teeth. I couldn’t hold him, I couldn’t sleep with him anymore he was to big and heavy. Suddenly a screen came out of a watch on my wrist. There was a Samurai that looked like me but he had a black sword.

He said “Hello Jake, I am Marc”.

“Wait how do you know my name” I whispered.

“I have been planning this day for years” Marc Said. “Why am I here, Where am I?” I said. “You are here to save the world from a evil witch” Marc yelled. “Wait what no way” I shouted.

“Yes sorry” Marc cried.  

“Fine but what is my reward?” I asked.

“You will get to live with other Samurais, And Bob will get to live with a group of Samurai Tigers” Marc said proudly.

“Awesome i’ll do it” I said excitedly.

“Fantastic, Go save the world Jacob” Said Marc happily.

“Don’t worry we will” I said proudly.

2 years later…

I have been training for ages now. Today is the day I saved the world from the evil witch. She seemed hard to beat. The witch was there in front of me. She hit me with her witch stick. I chopped her witch stick in half with my Samurai Sword. She let out her evil cry. I hit her with my Sword. Her evil soul let out. Me and my tiger got our reward. I got to live with a group of Samurais. Bob got to live with a group of Samurai Tigers.

Mrs. Lee teaches my Class on Wednesday and some other days when our main teacher is busy or sick. Miss. Benette, Miss. Benette is Liam’s Teacher. Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Mitchell teachers Rm 1. Miss. Lee, Miss. Lee teaches Rm 2, Miss. Lee and Mrs. Lee are Cousins, Fun Fact! They are both terrified of spiders. Mr. Norman!! Mr. Norman is our awesome principle. Fun Fact he is our only boy teacher. Julie, Julie is our kind Office lady. Miss. Wilton, Miss. Wilton teaches Rm 6. Miss. Satherly, Miss. Satherly teaches Rm. 5.

Kiwi Can

Kiwi Can is when we learn all sorts of fun stuff. In Kiwi Can we have 2 awesome Kiwi Can teachers named Ross and Katie. In Kiwi Can we have Point Charts, At the end of the term Ross and Katie will pick a winning team with the most points, The team that won will win a awesome prize.

Winter Sports

Winter Sports is when the year 5,6,7 and 8’s go do soccer and netball on Fridays. For Winter Sports I do Netball.

Where is Mrs. Lee?!?

We have not seen Mrs. Lee in 2 weeks so that gave my class and I a idea to write a story about Mrs. Lee disheartening into the face of the earth!

Q: When was the last time you saw Mrs Lee? I saw her wandering around in the Sun Exhibition in a air bubbles called The Sun, The sun is when you go in the sun and what you hear in The air bubble Sun is what you will hear when you go up to the real Sun.

When Mrs Lee went into The Sun we heard puff sounds…”puff...puff...PUFF”… We looked inside The Sun as soon as that loud PUFF came out and she disappeared, No one knew where she went everyone panicked and shivered. Everyone yelled “Mrs Lee come back!” Than we heard a stomp a loud STOMP but we realised it was The Sun bouncing away into a whole covered in yellow paint! “Mrs Lee Mrs Lee come back” everyone said! Out of no where Mrs Lee flew out of The Sun and she was screaming loudly! “AHHHH!“  Mrs Lee Screamed “Mrs Lee your back!” everyone yelled “Yes I am!” Said Mrs Lee, “What happened there?” I said, “I have no idea” Said Mrs Lee, “I was in The air bubble Sun and I suddenly flew out of nowhere into the real sun and I heard a loud swish sound” Said Mrs Lee. “We are just glad your back!” Everyone said, Everyone realised Mrs Lee was boiling hot and she never felt this hot before! “Everyone wants go to the real Sun now!” I said, “No no no it’s way too hot you will burn!” Said Mrs Lee, “Ok we wanna go see dinosaurs now let’s goo!” My friend said.

New York if falling!

New York is falling!

Welcome to New York city, by the way I am Mya and meet my friends Greer and Talia we are all girls. Today me and my friends are going to be giving this class a tour of New York city. Let's go see your hotel room first! We said “ wow this is amazing! “ Everyone jumped on their bed and had a blast for 10 minutes. Next we are going to see your own private pool and spa. Everyone ruffley scratched their clothes off and jumped in the pool. Ok class! You have 5 more minutes in the pool! Once the classe’s pool time was over we went to see the statue of liberty. Once we arrived there we heard and felt a massive shake! We saw the statue of liberty falling towards us! We all ran as fast as we could. We arrived at a safe place in a underground basement and watched New York city fall to pieces. Once it was safe to go out we were all terrified and crying because we have never felt a earthquake as bad as this one! We went out and the statue of liberty was broken into pieces on the ruff broken ground. We rushed to the Airport and flew back to New Zealand to go home and to be safe. Once we arrived back home in New Zealand we all went and took our class and us to the hospital to see is we were hurt or something. We got our results and we were all fine but we just had a few scars. We rushed all the kids to their home and explained to all of their parents what has happened in New York, it took us almost  3 hours to tell all their parents what happened because their parents had lots of questions like are you ok what happened is the world ending and is everyone safe in New York. Then we took our self back home and told our parents what happened and then we took a nap.

Today I learnt about Māori colors with my class!

We are learning how to code

last week we were having a lesson with Miss Morgan. She showed us a coding game that teaches you about codes. The website was code.org. The game is when you have left right and move blocks, you have to put the blocks in order to travel and you have to attack a monster.
